This is a photo of our home planet taken only a few hours ago! So what? We have photos of Earth taken from space every day. Ah, but *this* photo was taken by a spacecraft ON ITS WAY TO JUPITER.
From the source: "Mostly black space, most of Earth visible at the top right of the image. Part of a spacecraft visible on the left."

Tyndall Centre colleague Dr Claire Brown and I discuss social housing, overheating, thermal comfort and how UK homes need to adapt to a changing climate. Climate-resilient housing is a social justice issue, and the UK must address both its existing housing stock and the homes being built.

How Do We Keep Our Homes Liveable in a Hotter Climate? In Conversation with Dr Claire Brown
My #CoffeeGeogPod chat with Dr Claire Brown highlighted the importance of adapting UK housing for climate change, focusing on thermal comfort during heat waves. We discuss social issues such as the insulation and shading choices available to private homeowners versus social housing tenants. Retrofitting existing homes and incorporating solar shading into building regulations are pivotal for future-proofing structures and ensuring health and safety.

Bonkers that I have been a member of the #Geography community for over 20 years and this is my first @rgs.org annual conference! Enjoying the pre-conference seminar and networking “Geography matters in turbulent times”
A view from the back of an audience at an academic presentation. A female speaker stands at the front of a grand room with tall windows and dark green curtains, presenting next to a large screen. The slide reads "Geography & Education Research Group" with a subtitle mentioning the "Journal of Geography in Higher Education," and the main title is "Why does Geography Matter in Turbulent Times." In the foreground, we see the backs of audience members' heads; one person is holding up a smartphone to take a picture of the slide. Framed portraits are visible on the right wall.A close-up of a projection screen displaying a presentation slide. The slide is titled "...ly-just pedagogic approach: Student-staff partnership." On the left is a block of text describing a collaborative, reciprocal process where participants contribute equally to curricular or pedagogical conceptualization. On the right is a complex circular diagram titled "STUDENT ENGAGEMENT," with an outer ring and an inner circle divided into sections like "Learning, teaching and assessment" and "Learning, design and developing," highlighting core values like "Trust," "Courage," and "Authenticity." The source citation at the bottom references the Higher Education Academy (2015). The tops of audience members' heads (fuzzy brown hair) are visible at the bottom of the frame.A male presenter wearing a patterned floral shirt stands at the front of the room, pointing at a large screen that displays a web browser running the "Web R Console" coding interface (RStudio). Small video call tiles are visible in the top right corner of the screen, suggesting a hybrid event. The audience sits in the foreground facing the screen. The room features tall windows with green curtains, and a green table banner is visible on the left that reads "Journ... in High..." (part of the Journal of Geography in Higher Education).A female presenter with blonde hair in a black dress stands at the front of the room, pointing at a large screen displaying a detailed map of a coastal or island region with red and pink network lines and green/red markers. There are two inset photos on the map: the top left shows two people dressed in winter gear inside a small boat or cabin, and the top right shows people riding snowmobiles across a snowy, icy landscape. The audience is viewed from behind in the foreground, with the same green curtains and high ceilings framing the room.
