Attention: Tracy Casavant
Dear Ms. Tracy Casavant:
Re: Freedom of Information Request - WCB-2022 - 0861
I am writing in response to your request for access to information under the Freedom of Information
and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). You requested documents authenticated by WorkSafeBC
responsible engineer, Allen P. Heinrichs, P.Eng, providing the technical rationale for COVID-19
workplace safety guidance relied upon by employers. Specifically, the authenticated work product
underpinning decisions.
In response to your request, we reached out to WorkSafeBC departments such as
Prevention Divisional Services and Credentialling and Occupational Health and Safety Practice &
Engineering Support. I received confirmation that workplace safety guidance was not provided by
WorkSafeBC’s Engineering department or any other internal group, but rather by public health.
WorkSafeBC aligned all COVID-19 workplace safety guidance to public health direction.
We also reached out to Allen Hendrichs requesting the above records. Mr. Henrichs confirmed that no
such records exist. Therefore WorkSafeBC is unable to provide you with the records you have
requested because the records do not exist in the custody or under the control of WorkSafeBC.
If you disagree with our response you have 30 days from receipt of this letter to request a review by
the Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC). You can contact the Office of the IPC at 250-387-
5629 or visit their web site at www.oipc.bc.ca.
If you have any questions, please write or call me at 604-279-8171.
Yours sincerely,

When I taught at an all-boys prep school, we'd do an activity where I had them list every sexual term they could think of. They'd often laugh, as many were absurd things meant for Urban Dictionary. We'd then go through how many terms were violent (~85%) and how many were male-dominant (~90%).

My husband and his friends realised they thought they were good guys but still made like, ironic-sexist jokes. They introduced the 'sexism snake' where wherever one of them made a sexist comment or joke, the others would just start hissing. Didn't need to get into an argument about it, just hissing.

I hope whatever civil engineering firm lands this RFP is haunted at night by visions of the cyclists they'll be killing. I hope their iron ring they were given at graduation when they took an oath to the public starts to itch and weigh on their finger like an anchor.
What is certain, however, is that a vast sum of our money will be wasted, countless Torontonians will find themselves profoundly inconvenienced for extended periods, and, eventually, a cyclist will get struck by a car. But at least the congestion will be worse.

Pyromorphite is sometimes an ore of lead & lead has been used in pigments since antiquity. Now sold as a resin art pigment. But #Graphite itself has been used in art since antiquity. It’s made a huge impact on art history! It also handily wins the physics vote. So vote Graphite! #MinCup

“The grand master of urban entertainments, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec made many paintings and drawings on the circus theme in the late 1880s and 1890s, just as his popularity as a commercial artist soared. Fin-de-siècle Paris hosted an assortment of professional circuses, and Lautrec frequented them all. He was personally drawn to circus performers-those colorful equestrians, animal trainers, clowns and acrobats on society's "fringes." It was while undergoing treatment for alcoholism at a sanitarium on the outskirts of Paris in 1899 that Lautrec produced an ambitious group of crayon/chalk drawings of circus figures. These imaginative sketches were drawn entirely from memory, without recourse to preliminary studies. The Lehman horse and rider perform the "pas espagnol", the ambling gait formalized by the Spanish Riding School of Vienna. It was thanks to these circus drawings that Lautrec earned his release from the sanitarium-their impressive handling convinced doctors of his improving health. As Lautrec left the clinic, he is said to have remarked, "I've bought my release with my drawings." “

Hoping for a late surge for #Julienite in today's #MinCup26 quarter final. Hard to be up against a tasty opponent like #Halite - but it's structure is just so interesting! Look at those jewel-like blocks of death! (Not a chemist, but sulfur+nitrogen+carbon attached to a metal can't be healthy)
Image representing the crystal structure of julienite - here red spheres represent oxygen atoms, dark yellow spheres/polygons represent sodium atoms, dark blue spheres/polygons represent colbalt atoms, yellow spheres represent sulfur atoms, brown spheres represent carbon atoms and light blue spheres represent nitrogen atoms. The structure is viewed down its c axis and shows that there are sodium/water(oxgyen) units surrounded by colbalt complexes with nitrogen, carbon and sulfur attached. The representation is drawn in VESTA from entry #9760 in the American mineralogist database.

"The greatest contributions to humanity — art, inventions, even products — show evidence of people who got lost in a problem & came out the other side with an idea they would not have found otherwise. That does not happen by taking a shortcut to the center. It happens in the detours." #GiftLink 🎁
This new dynamic worries me, not for the financial implications but for the creative ones. When we reach for the wrong tools too quickly, we eliminate the part of the process where our particular experience and point of view enter the work. I fear that A.I. is undermining what makes us most human — the ability to translate lived experience and nuanced thoughts into a unique point of view, and then to crystallize that perspective into something people can connect with.
