for those outside New Zealand: 2 years ago a veiled far-right astroturf org threatened to sue an investigative journalist for a book he was writing about them. He was not writing a book about them, but this incident meant former staff started leaking to him. He used those leaks to write a book.

This morning was the awesome Cambridge Kidical Mass. So many lovely interactions, most drivers waited patiently, others we just smiled & waved. One old man pedestrian thought it was a good time to shout at the kids "cyclists should pay 'road tax'". 🙄 So I had to cheer the kids on over his jeers. 😆

Received the severe alert first in Cymraeg, now, minutes later, in English. It could have been sent as a message rather than a loud buzzing alert. The alerts should only indicate risk to life, not a message to not use BBQs.

The old people are doing what?! 😳 www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...
Article paragraph reads: We still get royalty cheques. The biggest was one year when we got £14,000 from Japan for ringtones. There was a CBBC remake a decade ago which went worldwide but the royalties from Kuala Lumpur are tuppence. I only get a standing ovulation from old people nowadays. But I still have a T-shirt saying “The bloke who wrote the music for Danger Mouse”!

A reminder of #motonormitivity mindset. This person posts her belief that people walking/cycling deserve to be harmed by drivers for their mode of transport. This reply is in response to supporting a reduction in the speed limit from 30 to 20mph on some Cambridge roads. 🙂‍↕️ @camcitco.bsky.social
Reply to a call for 20mph on residential streets in Cambridge reads "if driving at 30 was dangerous there would be bodies everywhere.
Pedestrians should remember how mushy and soft they really are. Vulnerable road users bring it on themselves for the vast majority of the time. Often deservedly. It's good education to be bounced off the front of Doris doing 27mph in a 30"

What impact has 20mph had on road safety in Wales?
The introduction of a default 20mph speed limit on restricted roads in Wales in September 2023 generated significant public debate. The policy increased the share of roads with a 20mph limit from 2% to 37% as of September 2023.
