For this edition of #screenshotsaturday I present basic traffic AI now working with #ue5 ZoneGraph (sans Mass) complete with traffic lights at intersections. I've used a rather sneaky trick to reduce the need for complex turn logic- can you spot what it is? 1/2 #gamedev

With the help of @nebukam.bsky.social, I have now taken the traffic system I showed off last Sunday in #UnrealEngine5, and automatically have it populating the navigation in my city thanks to an early look at a #PCGEx add-on. I'll be going over it this Sunday: www.youtube.com/@Procedural_...

The next logical thing to add to our #UnrealEngine5 #PCG City Gen is to populate the roads and sidewalks to make them feel less empty. Tutorial will be coming this Sunday but if you missed how we setup Districts for the city gen, the video just came out: youtu.be/aSfVYXNnHU0

Well, it seems like MAYBE you guys do indeed want me to do a city gen in #UnrealEngine5. I guess we can start by making a road network with the new 5.7 spline intersection node, and a bit of help from #PCGEx. Then go from there. :) Tutorial coming Sunday: www.youtube.com/@Procedural_...

@watabou.bsky.social Hey there! I'm thinking of parsing the output of your generators to generate PCG data skeletons in Unreal -- would that be ok with you? And if so, how stable are your different data models for the existing generators? Feel free to DM me if you want to take this in private!

as a child I thought it was wildly unrealistic that Sims would immediately give up on all their goals and dreams if a single dirty plate was left on the ground but now that I’m an adult I understand that that was the most realistic part of the game

Parodie du mème de la série "Invincible".
En arrière-plan on voit un data center engloutir de grandes quantités de carburant et d'eau, envoyant des colonnes de fumée dans l'atmosphère.
Au premier plan, Miyazaki prononce la phrase du mème original: "Look what they need to mimic just a fraction of our power", tandis que Boulet répond un peu tristement: "I still wish they'd fuck off".

The broad idea is to trace paths through a field of directions. In the image below, the red arrows denote a direction to interpolate towards, and the yellow dots are locations to interpolate towards. The individual points then do a weighted sum of those rotations based on range.
