I am bad with the cold and worse with my arse. My bowels are much humbugged with damned stuff I took.

When this portable, window-mount, heat pump came out it was $4,000-$5,000 to purchase and install. Now it is down to ~$3,000. It's a cold-climate heat pump that operates to -22°F, runs on 120V and you can still see out the window! 🧪💡🔌☀️💨💧🔋

Here's what they don't tell you about woodpecker tongues: Some of them are barbed (pileated & downy 'peckers) to allow them to spear insects. The barbs are keratinized, so *hard*. Meaning woodpecker *threat displays* can involve poking an interloper with a barbed tongue. (📷: u/ElvisIsNotDjed)

So, I think that the next time Abdul El-Sayed (or any Dem politician) is interviewed by Canadian media some more pointed questions should be asked. For example : 1. Let's say there's two plants making a widget, one in MI, one in ON. 2. ON plant starts taking market share from MI plant. 1/3

I assume that folks are right to downplay the economic impact (for both the U.S. and Russia) of any diesel that today's deal manages to move, but I wouldn't minimize the other effects, eg on Trump's view of Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries, Putin's confidence in outlasting sanctions, etc.

Long-term employment trends in NB, ON, and QC. The trend switcheroo between NB and QC is interesting - an effect of two referendums? nbdatapoints.ca/economic-gro...
The vertical axis is an index. Indexed data are used to compare changes over time across provinces with very different population and labour market sizes. For each province and variable, the value in a selected base year is set equal to 100, and all other values are calculated relative to that base year. The index is computed by dividing each observation (e. g. population, employed) by the value in the base year and multiplying by 100. For example, an index value of 115 indicates that the series is 15% higher than in the base year, while a value of 90 indicates it is 10% lower. This approach emphasizes relative growth and change over time rather than absolute size, making it easier to compare trends among provinces. At least, I think that's right 😂
