Agree with @jamellebouie.net that it's pretty clear Elon Musk wanted to eviscerate USAID *for the purpose of killing as many African people as possible.* Mass death wasn't an accidental byproduct of his "deep state" paranoia; it was a key mission of DOGE. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/29/o...
One might even see his destruction of the United States Agency for International Development — responsible, so far, for an estimated 700,000 deaths worldwide — as consistent with his concern with falling white birthrates relative to those in places such as sub-Saharan Africa, where U.S.A.I.D. was active. After all, one way to secure a future for Western children, in this zero-sum view of the world, would be to starve African ones.

Nothing shows how much of a bubble Twitter has become than this. The media-politics world on there went absolutely nuts on Zohran Mamdani after he called for Netanyahu's arrest. If you were only on there, you'd think he was in trouble. But turns out most of America agrees with him:

Alas, by an apparent 6–3 vote, the Supreme Court also clears the way for Texas to execute an intellectually disabled man in violation of the 8th Amendment. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...
JUSTICE JACKSON, with whom JUSTICE SOTOMAYOR joins,
dissenting from grant of application to vacate stay.
Edward Busby’s expert concluded that Busby is intellectually disabled. Texas’s expert agreed. Recognizing the
constitutional implications of that assessment, Texas joined
Busby in asking the Texas courts to find Busby ineligible
for execution. After the Texas courts refused, Texas
changed its mind, opting to proceed with the execution it
once tried to abandon. The Fifth Circuit then temporarily
stayed the execution. This was a modest, responsible step
taken to allow that court to determine whether Busby is entitled to habeas relief before it is too late.
Today, the Court finds itself unable to tolerate even a
brief delay. Lifting the Fifth Circuit’s stay, the Court
grants emergency relief to ensure that Texas’s current

More premeditated killing outside of armed conflict. There's a word for that. 2nd boat bombing in two days. The Trump administration is keen to share the snuff films from these strikes, but is strangely unwilling to identify these "Designated Terrorist Organizations" or release the OLC opinion.
On May 5, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed.

ostracization SOUNDS like it's the process of slowly being turned into an ostrich, but it really just means being excluded from a group. i guess there's two types of ostracization and only one of them is good. qwantz.com/index.php?co...
T-Rex: Styles change rapidly, even within our own lifetimes! Something that looks super cool when you're 14 likely won't look nearly as cool when you're 24.

T-Rex: And FORGET about 54!T-Rex: This being the case, you have two options. The first option is to adjust your style with time, conceding that what YOU think is cool is just the average of what everyone else thinks is cool, and your core self may not be nearly as immutable as you'd like to believe. Oh well!Utahraptor: And the second is to never change, and to just look more and more uncool over time!
T-Rex: Yep!

T-Rex: But in this case at least you have the knowledge that YOU like the way you look, and you don't care what anyone else thinks. So the two options are either core self and fashion ostracization, or hollow self and fashion success.
Off panel: Huh! I think I'm the a secret third kind of person who has a core self that grows and evolves in such a way that it always reflects current trends, but it's also truly me at the same time.
