A few years ago, I did a fiber countdown calendar, with a mini batt for each day. I have some leftovers, so I decided they would be my next spinning project. Leaving them all as singles, which I love. These are the first two. 🧶🧶

I said I wanted to get this finished in time to wear this summer, I barely made my deadline. This is Marettimo by Boyland Knitworks. I made the 3rd size and sized up for the sleeve sizing. Yarn is my Dolly's Coat of Many Colors, Rosehip Tea and Rose on Sourdough Sock. Pattern and yarn links below. 🧶

This girl I used to waitress with in Austin, we moved to New York together in 2003 on a literal Greyhound bus. Shared a fifth floor walk-up studio that, when it rained, had more leaks in the ceiling than we had pots and pans. We used to get drunk and smoke off the fire escape and do “sad-offs.”

When your beloved dog is approaching 15 years, the vet has to gently tell you your dog is getting old. 😢 Duncan is reasonably healthy and happy. We just have to make some accommodations for him. I love this scruffy guy so much.

My squash plant has been decapitated by borers & my cucumber plants have given up the ghost. The garden this year has not been great, when I needed it the most! (Everything edible being recalled or dangerous.) Grateful for a farmers market nearby. Hope they have some great tomatoes on Saturday.

We’ve been having our own little Yakuza film festival over here. First, Normal with Bob Odenkirk (very much enjoyed) and then Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. I’ve never seen the original Kill Bill movies and the animated part is amazing.

Me, while eating dinner outside in NYC: This place looks like it is next to CBGB. Me a moment later after looking CBGB up on Maps: I'm sitting staring directly at CBGB. It's a John Varvatos now? After dinner, we peered into the windows and it looks like it's a preserved space and a store?!?! OK.

My Yoke Stitch Calculator for knit and crochet sweaters had deactivated for some reason. But I noticed today, and now it's fixed. 🧶 yarntowers.com/yoke-stitch-... Figure out your sleeve and gusset counts, and your back/front stitch numbers here for free.

After my weekend in Ann Arbor, I drove to Oberlin to drop off some fiber at For Ewe. Then, to Pittsburgh for the night. In the morning, I visited an old bestie at the Heinz History Center—When I came close to the exhibit and heard Mr. Rogers singing, I welled up. I miss him.

Spinners, how's your Tour been? I have been doing some spinning myself when I have a few minutes and it's been doing wonders for my nervous system. I mostly spin braids that have seen better days or are mess-ups in the dyeing process-- These are BFL/Silk and Polwarth/Silk. 🧶🧶

Finished listening to Yesteryear. My opinion on the writing went up a bit but part of the ending just didn’t land, IMO. I get what the writer was after and like that they are engaging with the issues they are presenting. It was riveting at parts, for sure. I give it 3/5.

I bought a hot pepper plant from Costco and I cannot keep up with the amount of peppers it is yielding. Should I try to pickle them? I throw them into dishes here and there but I have sooooo many. I also accidentally planted a Caroline Reaper pepper plant. More on that later, LOL. #gardening
