On 16 September 1982, Lebanese Phalange militiamen allied with Israel stormed into the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in Beirut and massacred over 3,000 civilians. Israeli troops surrounded the camps, and allowed the militias to kill for days. 44 years later, no one has been held accountable.
