The Cornell case, particularly the school & DA's response, demonstrate why rape victims need an advocate to protect them. The system is hostile to victims & looking to discredit & vilify them. She did everything right but it wasn't just the rapists looking to harm her.

Men are doxxing the wrong women because they're so hungry to terrorize a rape victim into further tragedy, they don't care if they violate & destroy other women. They just want to join in men's sexual violence like the 8th in line to a gang rape, any woman will do.

TY, @jesspected.bsky.social, for bringing the Daisy Coleman story to my attention! bsky.app/profile/jess... Also 2012: 15yo Audrie Pott hanged herself 8 days after being raped & cyberbullied. HuffPost named Coleman in "13 Most Fearless Teens of 2013". It didn't keep her from suicide 7 years later.
Poster of the documentary "Audrie & Daisy”, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016.

The poster features the line SHAME IS TRENDING & the hashtag #EVERYONEKNOWS

The 2-tone photo shows an adolescent girl sitting on the ground and hugging her knees in a school hall while other students mill around her at a certain distance.

Do their stories presage that of Michael Tracey and the Cornell 7 ?

These sorts of replies from men are so tedious because they're meant to embarrass women as being traumatized for objecting to systemic oppression. Just stay out of spaces/conversations critiquing power & oppression if you're not interested in bettering society. You're not parasites becoming pearls.

One of the things to come from GamerGate was the gamification of torturing real, live women...hounding them out of their homes, making them look over their shoulders for years. It was treated as a joke, nbd, the work of a few bad apples--as all terrorism against women is--& that failure leads here.

Studies dating back to the 80s have found that men are not just “confused” about consent. They just don’t prioritize consent over things like power, domination, and sexual gratification. Men participating in a gang rape know they don’t have the victim’s consent.

THIS. Consequences are meant to enforce a moral code. We need boys and men to internalize a moral code of gender equality.

Another big one is teaching your son to see girls as equals. Instead of enrolling him in sex-segregated sports, introduce him to a co-ed team. And help him foster his more “feminine” interests where we can be in mixed-sex spaces, making mixed-sex friend groups.

Good 🧵. My conversations about consent with my kid were kicked off by him REALLY wanting to pet other people's dogs. He understood having to ask first, but wanted to ignore anything other than an outright no. ("He's not really friendly.") We had a lot of convos about recognizing soft no's and

There are a lot of parents focused on getting gentleness *for* their sons, but not expecting their sons to show gentleness to anyone else. And that’s just male entitlement in liberal window dressing.

Researchers find that one-time trainings about consent can actually increase perpetration. In my interviews with young men, they told me that they knew no one believed what they were saying because it hadn’t come up before—and no one actually held men accountable anyway.

This is the problem. We can never address patriarchy because simply pointing out privilege, how it's enforced, & the entitlement it creates in men is disingenuously labeled as hatred of vulnerable white boys to silence liberation. We can't raise better men if naming the problem is "hate."

Also thinking about Chelsea Perkins currently serving 22.5 yrs for doing just that, more time than most rapists & even many men who kill their victims. She hunted her rapist, Matthew Dunmire, & gave him the justice our patriarchal systems deny rape victims. She should be free.

This. These male-dominated, hypermasculine dominance spaces aren't just dangerous to women. Men are often the first victims. Stigmatizing victims & normalizing dominance also makes male victims vulnerable. When men do it to men, it's called "hazing" or "pranks."

Ret. NYPD. These are the people rape victims are expected to report being raped to & find empathy, support, & justice from. No surprise almost no rapists go to prison with these accomplices gatekeeping justice. If 40% of cops self-report beating their wives, what % are rapists?

This is also sexual terrorism, every bit as effective as rape. This is yet another way men identify with rapists & worship the violence of other men. This is men acting as a class to defend their violent enforcement of the oppression of women. But why don't women report, eh?

The jackals are out, as they usually are for a woman who speaks up in a way that challenges patriarchy. (And a lot of why victims don't come forward or withdraw--as a Weinstein victim did--is because the misogynist public and legal system launch their own punitive assaults.)

I asked America.gov whether Donald Trump is an adjudicated rapist and it responded: basically, yes so that clears that up at least
Andrea's prompt for America.gov reads "is donald trump an adjudicated rapist" and the bot response is:

In civil litigation brought by writer E. Jean Carroll, a federal jury found Donald Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation, awarding damages.

Regarding the specific legal term:

The jury did not find him liable for "rape" under the narrow legal definition used in New York penal law at the time, but instead found him liable for "sexual abuse".
The presiding judge later clarified in post-trial rulings that the jury's verdict established that Trump had forcibly sexually assaulted and digitally penetrated her, which meets common understandings of rape even though it did not match the specific statutory elements required for that charge under New York criminal law.

The rape and pedophile party specifically use transphobia as a wedge to make *all* their intended victims more vulnerable, and Jeff Epstein literally advised them in many, many, many barely literate emails to do this.

Remembering this part of that Tate article where they brag about getting away with beating & raping girls. Yes, the system protecting abusers absolutely encourages them & other men to abuse. It is deliberate conditioning of abusers & enforcement against victims.

They don't follow through though. It's performance art for male approval & to center themselves in women's stories. It's why men cling to a case from 1984 (which was more about homophobic rage, an "honor killing," than "protection") because it's so nonexistent for men to do shit.

Speaking of the bear, I keep seeing similar rape apologism like this screenshot so I want to point out what it's stating about men. Because her "friend" was the man who lured her there & gang raped her. So it declares that men can't be friends & all are rapists. But then they cried over the bear.

Whenever I post about men abusing women or kids & women vent a violent fantasy, I'm fine with that because I know women don't have that option but genuinely would like to. When men do it, I know it's entirely performative for male approval & you wouldn't even tell your bro "not cool."

I can't think of Blasey-Ford without remembering her own father sided with the man who tried to gang-rape her. Stop asking men "what if that were your daughter?" Proximity to women doesn't make misogynists value, protect, or love them.
