The evidence supporting the 1887 date is in the Wycombe Wanderers history book by Dave Finch & Steve Peart. It is fairly clear, with the exception of the final paragraph. I suspect my find is a different 'Wycombe Wanderers' but it was a shock to discover. I'll post more as I find anything related.

So I look after the websites of quite a lot of migrant support organisations, it's my job but it's also something I care deeply about. Today I have three requests to remove addresses, identifying photos or names of people who fear for their lives. I'm sad, people, good people are terrified.

Worrying scenes in the Channel today, for all interested in asylum policy and maritime tactics. A small boat from Normandy spent more than 30 hours at sea. Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat.
