I got the tape drive working on the old beast! Behold 96Kb of storage from 1975! I used CuriousMarcs plastiband trick and it worked a treat! I'm getting closer to a fully functional machine.

I'm back to working on the HP 9815A calculator. I found a dead pass transistor on the 15V rail!!!! Glad I found that and my little protection board has already earned it's keep. If the 5V rail tests good I'll plug in the rest of the logic boards.

I'm not of fan of plain box symbols in schematic. Schematic symbols should have flair when ever possible. Put a dashed line in your isolator to show isolation! Put a cute little mountain on your barometer!

cheating a little bit because i did 3d print the enclosure but it was designed, soldered, and post processed with my own hands i actually loosened the belts on purpose to give the print a little bit of texture that came out during sanding
