No true scientist will outsource the fun of the creative process to a machine. We must focus on finding and eradicating the science operators who will stop at nothing to get more recognition & power. The impostors can be identified. We need to rely more on the good old human interactions.

Dear @economist.com, More disclosure of risks (unknown but possibly substantial) & effectiveness (at best very low even in the 1 2019 article you cite & perhaps not to improve much) won't help the embryos involved make better decisions about their futures. Caution needed. I regret your position.

I’m extremely saddened to learn that my former PhD mentor, Eric Weinberg passed away past week. The guidance and opportunities he provided in his lab hooked me on fish research for life. This last picture of us was taken 4 years ago, when we met for a lunch in NYC. RIP Eric.

The comb jelly or sea walnut (Mnemiopsis leidyi) undergoes a Ctenophore-specific cleavage program that is characterized as unipolar and holoblastic (total cleavage).
