They seem such a small part of the landscape, but they have such a big impact in keeping us connected with letters we post in them and the posties that go to every house in the country delivering them. A humble but mighty sign of the power of a postal service. #PostboxSaturday 📮

#31DaysOfGraves #Lettering Not quite a gravestone, although it is in a graveyard, and not quite letter-ing, but letters: a "postbox to heaven" in Wolston, Warwickshire, suggested by a grieving relative. Read about it at www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
A typical country postbox on a pole. The box has been painted white with gold lettering. It bears the usual "Post Office E [crown] R" but on the side, and the front, is inscribed a drawing of an envelope , followed by "Letters To Lost Loved Ones". The postbox is situated within a graveyard.

This piece by L.S. Lowry, titled "View of a Town," vividly depicts the industrial landscapes of northern England, characterized by factory chimneys, terraced houses, and bustling townspeople. Lowry's unique style, often noted for its "matchstick men," captures the everyday life of the working class, evoking a sense of both community and isolation.
