Happy Birthday to 'Slim Jim' Baxter! 🥳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 He's one of the greatest footballers of all time. He might not have become as well known around the globe as some of the other famous players, but even amongst other superstars - he was the player that they admired (see in more alt text)! #JimBaxter

Regarding Jim Baxter, Pele even claimed that he should have been a Brazilian because that is how talented and silky he was with his left foot. George Best considered Jim to be the greatest player he had ever played with or against! Sir Alex Ferguson argued that Jim was the greatest player to come out of Scotland.

Anyway, happy birthday to Jim, who would have turned 87 today, but unfortunately moved on to play on different pitches in 2001. However, his legacy and the magic he created with a football lives on in the memories of anyone who has ever seen him play.

Today, the Royal British Legion Scotland are honouring the 73rd anniversary of the cease-fire in the Korean War, established on the 27th July, 1953.

This striking and somber memorial, which is the only memorial in the UK solely dedicated to the Korean War, is comprised of a beautiful Korean-style pagoda in the heart of two grass mounds in the shape of the Yin and Yang.

In the pagoda are inscribed the names of all 1114 fallen British soldiers. Furthermore, the memorial is surrounded by a planted forest of 1114 trees in honour of each of the fallen.

Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
