So true! I've come across a lot of personal files on former dev hardware. With any data volume, you gotta take care to not spread someone's sensitive info. People do lots of personal business on work machines, or jot down thoughts before it was conceivable it could be blasted to a global audience.

Almost all the character designs (as seen in this concept art as well as that prototype intro) changed by the final game. some of these designs are pretty wild!

Fun fact: The first part of the video was my attempt to exactly recreate the intro to the first Castlevania game!

Some levels, like The Neverhood, are very unfinished and different.

After a quick scan through, every level I've checked aside from Space Launch appears to be different from final. Here's the Underworld Lava level in the prototype (left) compared to final (right).

The prototype build opens with a pretty unhinged (and loud!) intro animation, missing from final, that shows a ton of early character designs.

I've just uploaded a "Demo Disc" prototype build and electronic press kit for the PS1 game BoomBots, dated from May of 1999, around 6 months before release. archive.org/details/boom...

What a strange adaptation of The Giving Tree!

You're totally right about that! Zoomoth's keshi offerings were sort of souped-up throwbacks to the old keshi figures of the 1980s, so this is surely a reference to the M.U.S.C.L.E/kinkeshi poses. Actually, since it's essentially a T pose, it was ideal for rigging the model for animation!

MrTalida @mrtalida.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
ha ha yeah! Actually, the paint job featured in the video is my attempt at recreating the actual way Zoomoth had their display model painted at Wonder Festival 2014. I think I even read that the sculptor's own son was the one who painted the figure.

Castlevania has just marked its 40th anniversary! To celebrate, I've 3D scanned what is by far the rarest keshi in my collection: Simon Belmont! Created by boutique toy maker Zoomoth, as few as 80 of these figures were ever sold, during just two days in 2014! Enjoy: archive.org/details/kesh...

Astounding work! The scope and scale of what you've extracted is amazing, and your ability to present it in such a fully featured web tool is top notch. Well done! Quick note: the green armored woman and people robed lord are cut NPCs named Dorey Lean and Ham, respectively. x.com/MrTalida/sta...

An unreleased Nintendo 64 game has been released today by Team Carrot. Kaminari no Gotoku: Choukousoku Igo by Seta is as you can guess from the screenshots a table Go game. This prototype build appears to be near final and can be fully played, as long as you have knowledge of Japanese and Go.

Even more recovered Firefly boss fight VO. Visually and tonally, I don't think this Firefly would've fit with the Nolan films. I wonder if the game would have followed Dark Knight's plot at all? Based on the files I can see, it seems you fight many villains, and The Joker is just one of them.

And here is audio I recovered from what is certainly the boss fight with Firefly which Alfred alluded to earlier. It sounds like he tries to bait you into a fight, only to be undone when the player jumps on his back mid-flight and destroys his jetpack.

More VO that I've recovered from what remains of this build of EA and Pandemic's canceled Dark Knight game from 2008. These are the only Batman lines I've found in the build; placeholders performed by someone making their best attempt at Christian Bale's bat-voice.

Dug in and seems Pandemic's The Saboteur used the name "Wildstar" in its files too. Was it an engine name, or Saboteur's codename and they didn't update the project name for Batman? Supports @liamrobertson.bsky.social 's research that Dark Knight was built on Saboteur. Leftovers in Batman files:

I'm working on recovering assets from a partially-intact June 2008 build of EA & Pandemic's canceled Dark Knight batman video game, codenamed Wildstar. Here's the Alfred VO I was able to recover. Some of the lines seem like they are actually read by Michael Caine (or a very good sound-alike)!

Kaori Mizuhashi is the original voice of Navi the fairy, a voice that many of us grew up with. It sounds like she's returning to reprise the role in the Japanese version, nearly 28 years later. Clip of an old promotional video for Ocarina of Time where she guided you, fully voiced.
