Your final 3D scanned Super Mario Bros. 2 board game pawn, and the final one to complete the set (!!!), is..... Hammer Bro! His thousand yard stare and white knuckled grip on his hammer clearly communicate his fervent desire to inflict blunt force trauma. archive.org/details/kesh...

Today's 3D scanned Super Mario Bros 2 board game pawn is Lakitu, who jealously guards his cloud as he looks down upon the Mushroom Kingdom and judges all that he sees. archive.org/details/kesh...

Your 3D scanned Super Mario Bros. 2 board game pawn today is... Cheep Cheep! That menacingly vacant expression... archive.org/details/kesh...

Today's keshi scan is ANOTHER pawn from Bandai's Super Mario Bros. 2 board game! This time it's... Goomba! This week is going to be all SMB2 pawns, by the way. archive.org/details/kesh...

Today's 3D scanned keshi is a board game pawn depicting Buzzy Beetle, from the Bandai board game based on the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2! If the figure looks familiar, it's because Bandai reused it in their Super Mario World board game too! archive.org/details/kesh...

I'm embarrassed to say that I *just* realized that they named this guy "Mack" in the original localization of Super Mario RPG as a reference to Mack the Knife. Only took me 30 years to get it!😭

Almost all the character designs (as seen in this concept art as well as that prototype intro) changed by the final game. some of these designs are pretty wild!

Fun fact: The first part of the video was my attempt to exactly recreate the intro to the first Castlevania game!

Some levels, like The Neverhood, are very unfinished and different.

After a quick scan through, every level I've checked aside from Space Launch appears to be different from final. Here's the Underworld Lava level in the prototype (left) compared to final (right).

The prototype build opens with a pretty unhinged (and loud!) intro animation, missing from final, that shows a ton of early character designs.

You're totally right about that! Zoomoth's keshi offerings were sort of souped-up throwbacks to the old keshi figures of the 1980s, so this is surely a reference to the M.U.S.C.L.E/kinkeshi poses. Actually, since it's essentially a T pose, it was ideal for rigging the model for animation!

ha ha yeah! Actually, the paint job featured in the video is my attempt at recreating the actual way Zoomoth had their display model painted at Wonder Festival 2014. I think I even read that the sculptor's own son was the one who painted the figure.

Castlevania has just marked its 40th anniversary! To celebrate, I've 3D scanned what is by far the rarest keshi in my collection: Simon Belmont! Created by boutique toy maker Zoomoth, as few as 80 of these figures were ever sold, during just two days in 2014! Enjoy: archive.org/details/kesh...

Astounding work! The scope and scale of what you've extracted is amazing, and your ability to present it in such a fully featured web tool is top notch. Well done! Quick note: the green armored woman and people robed lord are cut NPCs named Dorey Lean and Ham, respectively. x.com/MrTalida/sta...

Yeah, I've posted scans of nearly the full run of figures. These Ocarina of Time keshi were created by Bandai and came in metallic green and metallic silver variants. archive.org/details/@kes... I use a desktop-based structured light scanner that is intended for dental applications.

Even more recovered Firefly boss fight VO. Visually and tonally, I don't think this Firefly would've fit with the Nolan films. I wonder if the game would have followed Dark Knight's plot at all? Based on the files I can see, it seems you fight many villains, and The Joker is just one of them.

And here is audio I recovered from what is certainly the boss fight with Firefly which Alfred alluded to earlier. It sounds like he tries to bait you into a fight, only to be undone when the player jumps on his back mid-flight and destroys his jetpack.

More VO that I've recovered from what remains of this build of EA and Pandemic's canceled Dark Knight game from 2008. These are the only Batman lines I've found in the build; placeholders performed by someone making their best attempt at Christian Bale's bat-voice.

Dug in and seems Pandemic's The Saboteur used the name "Wildstar" in its files too. Was it an engine name, or Saboteur's codename and they didn't update the project name for Batman? Supports @liamrobertson.bsky.social 's research that Dark Knight was built on Saboteur. Leftovers in Batman files:

I'm working on recovering assets from a partially-intact June 2008 build of EA & Pandemic's canceled Dark Knight batman video game, codenamed Wildstar. Here's the Alfred VO I was able to recover. Some of the lines seem like they are actually read by Michael Caine (or a very good sound-alike)!

BASELESS SPECULATION: Acanthisitta_Known on reddit noticed that in the UK Zelda Direct, the Majora's Mask logo is modified. It has a new font where the "J" and "r" in "Majora" are switched. That is: they chose to "switch 2" letters. 🤔😲 www.youtube.com/live/S6C7og5... www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comm...

Digging through an old hard drive, I discovered this Animal Crossing desktop clock widget that had been released by Nintendo in 2005. It seems to have disappeared from the internet... until now! This puts a game-accurate clock on your desktop--complete with hourly chime! archive.org/details/Anim...

One more bit of ephemera I saved from Camp Hyrule 2005: A page of username "signatures" from all the members of that year's winning cabin! I'm guessing this was meant to be sort of like signing a yearbook.

New keshi scan alert! I've 3D scanned this "uncut" version of Dodo from the Super Mario RPG keshi set. Almost everyone tore off these little tags, so it's uncommon to find an uncut version of this figure. Both the cut and uncut scans are here: archive.org/details/kesh...

A few years ago I ripped all of Quest 64's music data and applied modern soundfonts for a series of "enhanced OST" videos I intended to release. The project got out of scope so I never finished it, but here's the Mammon Battle theme, for which I created a fully playable crane game.

IIRC early versions of the game story put a lot more emphasis on the playing card suit motif, with some sort of enemy alignment. Kazuyuki Kurashima talked about this in 2023 shortly after the remake came out (but has deleted the tweet). You can see remnants of this concept even in the final game.

Years ago I ripped all Quest 64's music data and applied modern soundfonts (my goal was to upload a full "orchestral" OST to youtube). I decided to add little jokey animations to each track, but I got carried away, which doomed the project to never be completed. Here's the battle theme.
