I keep seeing people throw out the term "Covid Correction" for the mass layoffs we continue to see in the games industry. We're beyond that. It's far beyond the mass hiring during Covid. It's mismanagement, poor trend chasing, cuts of departments to use AI (not as much but happening), etc.

Playing Fire Emblem on hard. Didn't recruit anywhere near enough units for the chapter I was on because my dumb ass didn't understand that I could have more at that point. Managed to beat an entire army of enemies using 3 characters. I feel simultaneously like a genius and a moron.

This is, I think, one of the best Metroidvanias of the last 15 years and you can EASILY finish it within this timeframe. Hell, you don't even need to feel bad about not paying Ubisoft, because they disbanded the team, anyway!! Also it runs at a (99% consistent) 60 FPS on Switch. Do it do it do it.

I'm not totally sold on the art design in the new Ocarina of Time but there's some truth to this. The lack of vocabulary people seem to have for describing its style is a shame. I think we should generally refrain from insulting any human made art design as "AI" especially.

The trajectory of Insomniac is curious because I feel like their Marvel games have been on a steady decline since the first one. The story in Spider-Man 2 was largely complete ass and now Wolverine is apparently not very good either. Would love to know what factors caused this behind the scenes.
