Yup. Climate scientists are cautious and *really* didn't want to exaggerate, so most of what made it to media was actually low-end to center projections, which were then reported by media as if they were worst-case.

The one constant I have noticed about the catastrophic climate crisis is that all the horrifying hyperbolic worst-case scenarios the climate scientists tried to use to scare us into doing something were universally and ridiculously nowhere near as bad as reality is.
