Miles @milorad.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I was in grad school in the history dept. at George Mason while they were developing Zotero and it was exciting to see it come together and use the tool early on. "Research, not re-search!" 010

Miles @milorad.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Yes. When streaming was new, the rationale was no ads. I thought, "hell yeah, I will gladly pay a subscription to be free of ads!" Now we pay more and still get ads. We have started trying to whittle down the services we pay for, and the ad-to-price ratio is one of the driving considerations. 010
Miles @milorad.bsky.social · 01/10/2026How about text-based media adopts atproto so that you can have one login to hundreds (thousands?) of outlets and this facilitates amalgamated subscriptions with micro payments for individual articles (like Spotify for news and journals without outlets having to cede autonomy to a 3rd party app). 010

Miles @milorad.bsky.social · 30/09/2026It is really good for getting you thinking about sabath, gleaning, and jubilee as ways of faith that should be creatively adopted. The examples they give are often specific to densely urban contexts, and kind of overwhelming. Not much of what they suggest can be done as a small personal action. 110
