I have caught myself spiraling into more politics on this site because I have OPINIONS, but I'm on bluesky specifically not to be awash 24/7 in the muck. So send me the books you are reading, pics of pets and landscapes, personal victories, and favorite recipes. Let's see some of the good stuff.

DVDs aren't low-tech. They're just things you can actually own, that won't disappear overnight, that don't require a monthly subscription, that won't suddenly get reedited, that won't start putting adverts in the middle and that won't sell your data to the worst people in the world.

In 2016 I took my 18-month-old daughter door-knocking for Hilary and it was a great experience. In 2020 the world was too contagious for door-knocking, so I did phone-banking. In 2024 I became a citizen and felt political despair. I think it's time for canvassing again!

New era of life: if you ask how I'm doing I do not answer "fine" or "good." You are getting honesty. You are getting "I'm surviving" or "whatllyado" or "cranking away" or "treading water." And you are getting it delivered with a manic shaky smile. Are you uncomfortable? So am I. IT'S 2026 HELL YEAH.

As people are treated like machines and machines are imagined as people, as we are increasingly desperate for spaces to experience the sacred nature of our God-given humanity, may our churches double-down on the embodied, incarnate, and decidedly anti-machine nature of the Body of Christ.

Imperial reflections corner tower of the Forbidden City mirrored in the quiet moat. An old fisherman waits connecting ancient architecture with daily life Artistic harmony. #beijing #china #architecture #forbiddencity #reflection #photography #street #history #culture #urban #luiscordobapharchive
Horizontal orientation photograph capturing the moat surrounding the Forbidden City in Beijing. A distinguished corner watchtower and the red walls are perfectly reflected in the calm water. In the foreground, an elderly man in a dark jacket is fishing from the stone bridge, leaning next to his bicycle with a basket. Weeping willow trees with light green leaves frame the right side. Natural light emphasizes the geometric patterns of the traditional roof and the symmetry of the reflections. Optimized for Chinese imperial architecture, Beijing tourism, street photography, reflections, and traditional daily life indexing.

Hot take: Ramaswamy's failed batting cage shenanigans were funny, but while I hate the guy's politics, it's hard to hit a ball & no one should be shamed for trying. And the folks saying "Republicans try to project alpha male image so they deserve to be shamed" are actually reinforcing the toxicity.
