For @bostonglobe.com, I wrote about something you often see in rural communities: People waving at each other while passing on the road. I decided to try doing this in the Boston metro area for a few weeks. And I think more of us should give it a try. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/09/30/o...

Frog and Toad went for a walk. Toad did not trip over a rock. He did not bump into a tree. He did not fall in a hole. It turned out to be a very pleasant day after Toad's birthday.

When the 90.9-mile Boston Boundless Trail launched back in early June, I figured the soonest we would hear of people walking the whole thing would be late fall. But I was wrong. People are already hiking this Godzilla of a trail in full. Meet the latest: walkingcitytrail.substack.com/p/people-are...

City of Boston question: I stepped in wet asphalt while walking today and probably ruined my shoes. There were no warning signs posted by the asphalt patches/ramps and this was a municipal construction project. Is it worth paying $15 to file a claim for the shoes, or would I be throwing money away?

The intersection where this happened is one of the places where safe street initiatives have been frozen by the Wu adminstration. And it seems like one of the most profound ways of honoring Louisa Gag's life and her work would be pressuring the Wu admin. to resume these much-needed street projects.
