She could easily have been killed by traffic, resulting in a similar tragic end to the man in the wildlife park. We overheard one of the male carers say "never again", as it unfolded. But then later saw her sat on a bench. Whilst the carer she'd attacked, put a comforting arm round her shoulder.

Saw a situation last week, where a woman who was with 3 carers. Refused to get back into a vehicle in a retail car park. She lashed out several times at one of the female carers. Then ran across a road, narrowly avoiding traffic. It's sad of course. But some people are difficult to help.

If you're gonna' have a 2 Tone band pick the England Team, surely you'd go with The Selecter ?

Every time someone links to this film, I have to repost it. It's one of the most significant bits of British 20th century art. Everything about it is incredible. Groundbreaking music production by Daphne Oram. Amazing camera work by Wolfgang Suschitzky (who later filmed Get Carter).-

The fella' who delivers the milk on our estate, often comes round at 10 at night when I'm taking the dog out. Just seems bonkers to me to have it sat out all night, particularly in the summer months. Guess he doesn't like getting up in the mornings much.

Haven't seen it instore for a while, and we've been to a couple of the big Tesco Extras. Morrisons, Aldi, & M&S don't seem to sell it instore either. B&M do sell cans, I've noticed. Usually buy it when I see it.

They're becoming difficult to find. As is Ginger Beer I've noticed recently. Again, I think Sainsburys is one of the few Supermarkets that seem to stock it.

Very true. Still prefer white pepper personally, but I've often gotta' go out of my way to find it in the supermarket.

Roger Webb is always great value, and this one is high up on my list of favourites. Likely Barbara Moore on vocals, who gets a co-credit on Sweet Lullaby here.

Can remember my Wife telling me once, that after Sunday Dinner at her Grandparents. They would often have cold Yorkshire Pudding with milk & sugar as a cheap dessert. I agree the jam & cream thing does sound quite tempting.

Not all the songs were great, but they sounded great. William's sound was so distinctive. The only track on the album he didn't produce (Little Star) Sounded insipid by comparison imo. I agree it was both William's & Madonna's strongest album. It's still a great listen.

Extract from Private Eye: Bluesky also banned

THE government confirmed today that, despite being left off the initial list, Bluesky would be included in the social media sites banned for under 16s.

Said a Downing Street spokesman, "We're determined to protect impressionable teen minds from being exposed on Bluesky to friendly polite
conversation on topics ranging from the albums of Miles Davis to classic 70s Hollywood movies and the best era of Doctor Who."

He continued, "Filling teenagers' impressionable young minds with this genial chat is no way to prepare them for the hellish Al future that awaits them."

We visited about 4 years ago when our youngest son lived in Edinburgh. Some parts of it have definitely been transformed, and it was very busy the couple of times we were there. There's a lot of expensive "to rent" properties down the seafront as well. It's not all like that though.

I'm always entertained when they post a picture of themselves in the comments looking like an even creepier version of Donald Pleasence or something ? Either stood next to a motorbike or holding up a dead fish. Absolutely staggering how they could conceive a younger woman would be interested.

See loads on Facebook these days. Picture of a young woman, often A.I. generated. And loads of fellas in the comments old enough to be her A.I. Grandad wanting to know where she lives etc.. Difficult to have any sympathy with most of them.

Millennium was a kind of X Files spin off, similar to Torchwood to Dr Who. Only watched a few of them, and never really took to it personally. My Wife has a habit of starting to watch US TV shows that have already been cancelled. I'm forever telling her to "Google it" before she gets too engrossed.

I guess what I'm saying is. For all it is "history" as you say. Quite a lot of the younger generation know and like a lot of those old 80's tunes and older I guess. I think because I grew up in a time where style & culture changed so rapidly. It kind of messes with my perception of time to a degree.

When you go in a supermarket or department store now. It amazes me how much 80's music you still hear being pumped out in there. Back in the 80's the equivalent would've been listening to George Formby or Vera Lynn as you mooched around the aisles. It just didn't happen.

We have 1 general and 1 recycle. Some houses have a garden waste bin, but you have to request one. And given we don't have a lawn now, it would be mostly redundant for us. We also have a small container / tub for jars, glass, bottles etc. As far as I'm aware the new bin will be food waste only.

Michael Charters @michaelcharte13.bsky.social · 23/04/2026
It's Bin Day for us today, though we still just have 2 bins here at present. We're supposed to be getting a 3rd I believe, but not sure when that's meant to be happening, if ever ? Our council will often announce something is going to happen, and then you never hear of it again. So God knows ?

The second series of brilliant kids' supernatural anthology SHADOWS (1976) had one of the spookiest title sequences ever. It still blows my mind that Toast of Tinseltown did a direct homage for its titles. Talk about a deep cut. Knows his stuff, does Matt Berry!
