First EU reactions to Burnham suggestion that UK might rejoin EU: French President Macron: “Welcome back” Spanish PM Sanchez: Brexit was a “huge loss” for both the UK and the EU, and if Britain takes a decision to rejoin, Spain will “open its arms” again to the British people.

Massive recent rockfall at Holywell beach. Unsurprisingly, there were people far too close to the bottom of the cliffs, and others far to close to the edge at the top!
Piles of stones and earth beneath cliffs, next to a sandy beach. A few people are standing amongst the rubble.A red sign on the coastal path. The sign says: "Warning. Recent large cliff fall. Stay well back from cliff edge and walk inland to other sign.

Tom Watson’s move to Palantir is the latest sign of how far the rot has spread in UK politics. Like Blair, Cameron, Clegg, Mandelson, hired to open govt networks to companies and corporate capture of the state. They sell political capital built with public money. What do we get in return?

UK shares findings of damning climate crisis national security report suppressed under Starmer
El Niño poses critical threat to nations’ defences, says Ed Miliband in presentation to global foreign ministers The UK has warned countries around the world that the climate and nature crises and the coming El Niño threaten their national security and defence, presenting foreign ministries with the findings of an explosive report suppressed under Keir Starmer. Ed Miliband, the foreign secretary, made a presentation to the foreign ministers of the EU as well as Kenya and other countries on Wednesday night at a private meeting during the UN general assembly in New York, based on the report by the UK’s spy chiefs that found the collapse of natural systems around the world would lead to conflict, migration and food shortages. "The early days of Andy Burnham’s government have made Starmer’s look positively energetic: a PM who usually loves nothing more than being on camera has studiously avoided saying a word as he loses control of law and order in Britain, and his home secretary seems determined to appease the thugs."

If Shabana Mahmood is tough, why is she so slow to crack down on Danny Tommo and the far right?
Weeks of what looks like blatant lawbreaking have finally resulted in an arrest. But the home secretary seems happy to look elsewhere
