I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'll believe that fuel is too expensive when I don't routinely see people parked up in their cars with the engine running.

Whay the govt should be doing is mandating automatic speed limiters on new cars and then forcing retrofits to older cars with speed limit signs and manual limiters. We need to do a lot more than shiting harsh words at SM companies to tackle dangerous driving. www.theguardian.com/media/2026/a...

Past greenhouse gas emissions, primarily from burning fossil fuels, means that peak temperatures in the UK today are hotter (by around 3°C) than they would otherwise have been. Future burning of fossil fuels means heatwave temperatures will get hotter and hotter until we reach net-zero emissions.

1. Most bicycles are not going 25 mph 2. Bike crashes involving pedestrians are rarely fatal because of lower speeds and mass 3. The risks posed by bicyclists and cars to pedestrians are not equivalent 4. Why does no one ever say, "I support cars but they need to operate within traffic laws."
You can’t hear a bicycle coming at you and at 25 mph, there is enough force there to kill you. Both vehicles and bikes are hazardous to pedestrians.

I support bikes but they need to operate within traffic laws as everyone else has to.

Cases of invasive meningococcal disease have been confirmed in Kent. Sadly, 2 people are known to have died. It's important to know the signs of symptoms of meningitis and septicaemia. Get more info from NHS. 🔗 nhs.uk/conditions/meningitis
MENINGITIS SYMPTOMS:
fever
a very bad headache (this alone is not a reason to get medical help)
being sick
stiff neck
dislike of bright lights
rash (DO NOT wait for a rash to appear before seeking medical advice)
confusion, delirium
severe sleepiness, losing consciousness

SEPTICAEMIA SYMPTOMS:
fever and shivering
severe pains and aches in limbs and joints
cold hands and feet
pale or blotchy skin
very rapid or difficulty breathing
diarrhoea, stomach cramps
red or purple “blood spots” or blotchy rash on skin that does not fade under pressure – do the GLASS TEST. On dark skin, check other places such as the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, inside the mouth (roof), and the whites of the eyes
confusion, delirium
severe sleepiness, losing consciousness

If you become worried about yourself, your child, or a friend, particularly if symptoms are getting worse, seek medical help urgently.
