This botched attempt is as outrageous as the death penalty writ large. Tissue infiltration due to an improperly set line is a real problem. It happened to me during a minor day procedure and had my medical team scrambling when I asked why I was still conscious.🤔 www.nytimes.com/2026/10/01/s...

Oh, I yearn for a world in which businesses are categorically banned from any form of political spending. Certainly let them make their case on relevant issues, but get their money out of it. Citizens can weigh what’s in the best interest of society.

Moonraker by Ian Fleming was written in 1964 and contains a number of anachronism. Here’s one from a scene where Bond is chasing Drax in a car with no windscreen and wearing racing goggles. Yes, we have few insects on the road today!
The cover of Moonraker by Ian Flemming in an original edition paperback. A page from Moonraker with a passage circled in red that reads “Bond’s face was a mask of dust and filth with the blood of flies and moths that it smashed against it. Often he had to take a cramped hand off the wheel to clear his goggles, but the Bentley was going beautifully, and he felt sure of holding the Mercedes.“

Because employer contributions represent part of your total compensation package, every dollar diverted to absorb these 11% compound premium hikes is a dollar that cannot be used for baseline merit raises or bonuses. It’s like a hidden tax that is stealing wealth everyone who earns a paycheck.
