And, of course, Justice Alito repeats the false claim that USPS interference with mail ballots is needed to "better detect election fraud," a statement for which there is absolutely ZERO EVIDENCE in the record.
As for the equities, the Government has a strong interest in enforcing the rule, and implementing it will also “enhance the visibility of Federal Ballot Mail” in order to better detect election fraud. 91 Fed. Reg. 54972.  On the other side of the balance, the plaintiff States invoke the practical effects of implementing the rule close to the midterm elections. I take that problem very seriously, but it is not enough to convince me to deny the application.

Money that comes into the United States government is government revenue. It is part of the public fisc. There's not "taxpayer money" and then "extra bonus money outside the rules." It's all taxpayer money. And spending *any* of it requires Congressional authorization. 2/

This is a familiar promise — last year Trump proposed a DOGE dividend of $5,000 and $2,000 per person tariff checks. Neither one happened. This requires approval from Congress, which is already controlled by Republicans (who aren’t interested).

It is farcical that FIRE's campus rankings does not include any measure of state censorship, student self-reports are weighted very heavily, and the "tracking controversies" is opaque and incomplete. I think FIRE is mostly well-intended (not everyone agrees) but the rankings are worse than useless.

Destroying American landmarks and building monuments to himself is an abomination. Not the single worst thing, but emblematic of the whole problem. I feel this too. People have always cared about symbols, many care a lot about symbolism today, and there's virtually no national voice channeling that.

Last week,the Travis County district court granted the Texas Medical Board's motion to strike Paxton's intervention in the lawsuit Dr. Bowden brought against the TMB. Paxton had tried to represent Bowden-the ivermectin nut-in a case in which he already represented TMB. It is undoubtedly unethical.
