People are feeling like the law is being used against them instead of for them. I want people to know that the law is on their side, and that their Attorney General will be their lawyer — representing them, their families, their businesses, and our state.

Until Flock cameras can be deployed responsibly, we should slow down their implementation. Camera technology can help law enforcement fight crime, but Texans shouldn’t have to sacrifice their privacy in the process.

My goal is not to wake up every day and sue the Trump administration. But if they continue to violate the Constitution, infringe on our state’s rights, and impose illegal actions that hurt Texans, it will be my job to stop them.

Filming our first general election ad today! We’re taking on MAGA Mayes and his mega-money machine, so we need everyone’s help to deliver this ad to as many voters as possible. Please contribute $5 or whatever you can today: nathanfortexas.com/ad

On September 16, 2023, Mayes Middleton and I each swore an oath as jurors in the Ken Paxton impeachment trial. Only one of us kept it.

The Supreme Court sided with Democratic AGs to protect states’ rights to run their own elections. Republican AGs saw the same threat and decided following the party line was more important than defending the interests of their state.

Two Republican former Texas Supreme Court justices have endorsed me for Texas Attorney General. Why? Because this race isn’t about party or ideology, it’s about who will uphold and defend the rule of law. And Republicans who know and respect the law agree: I’m the best person for the job.

Why won’t MAGA Mayes debate me?

The right-wing fringe is using the Texas Attorney General’s office as its own publicly-funded private law firm.

If the federal government won’t protect Texas consumers, I will. The job of the Attorney General is to uphold the rule of law, protect market competition, and keep predatory business practices in check. When businesses compete fairly, Texans benefit. That starts with enforcing the rules.

Data centers are popping up in your backyard because Texas Republicans rolled out the red carpet for them without thinking it through. Now that Texans are angry, they’re suddenly changing their tune. Too little. Too late.

Three things the government should generally avoid: raising property taxes, driving up health insurance premiums, and closing rural hospitals. Dr. Oz’s proposed cuts to Medicaid will do all three. When I’m Attorney General, I’m taking him to court.

The most recent polling has me and Mayes Middleton tied. MAGA Mayes has spent millions of dollars of his own money trying to buy this race. It ain’t working. This November, we'll show Mayes that the Texas Attorney General's Office is not for sale.

Did the FDA back off a food safety recall for fear of upsetting one of Trump’s corporate donors? The fact that we are even entertaining that question means we are in a very dangerous place as a country.

Let’s call the Paramount/Warner Brothers-Discovery merger what it is: a commercial and political power play. Democratic AGs are the ones defending markets and consumers, and serving as a much-needed check on the abuse of power by Trump and his dinner hosts. That’s the leadership we need right now.

The only person in Texas who has authority to enforce Texas’s AI law, “TRAIGA”, is the Attorney General. You’re gonna want an AG who’s on your side. I will be.

Out of nowhere, the Texas AG's office threatened the Big 12 with a lawsuit over its dispute with Texas Tech. One day earlier, the Texas Tech Board of Regents Chair gave Ken Paxton a $274,000 campaign donation. This stinks of corruption.

If your Fourth of July cookout feels more expensive this year, that’s because it is. After decades of weak antitrust enforcement, the beef market lacks the competition it needs to keep prices down. As AG, I’ll work to protect competition and ensure Texans get a fair deal.

I’ve got a message for MAGA Mayes…

The problem of high prices and the problems facing our democracy are connected. When politicians answer to corporations instead of their constituents, there’s no consequence when prices go up, quality goes down, and power consolidates. A good Attorney General can do something about that.

The era of corruption in the Texas Attorney General's office ends November 3, 2026. The AG is supposed to ensure that government serves the public good over private interests, not the other way around. Every Texan should be able to look to the AG and say, "That's my lawyer."

Texans have endured abuses of power and discriminatory actions that weaken their voice and limit opportunity. We cannot allow the law to be twisted to disadvantage people or undermine their rights. As Attorney General, I'll stand by your side, not in your way.

It’s time for an attitude change in the Attorney General’s office. We’ve become so accustomed to having an AG driven by petty grievance and ideological zealotry that we've forgotten what this office was meant to do. Let's put it back to work doing a powerful amount of good.

Mayes Middleton thinks he can buy the Attorney General’s office, just like he bought the Republican AG nomination. I think Texans see right through it. There’s serious work to be done. And I’m ready to do it.

Voting to turn a blind eye to corruption is, in itself, an act of corruption. If Mayes Middleton can’t stand up for the rule of law as a State Senator, he is certainly unfit to be Attorney General.

I think people are tired of politicians talking down to them. People are interested in the nuances. I have too much respect voters to speak to them in absurd incendiary language. Let's elect an Attorney General who respects people and the law.

We have the wind at our backs to bring powerfully good leadership the AG's office! Thank you to the leaders and organizations across Texas who have given their support and wisdom to this campaign. Early voting for the runoff started today. Now let’s go vote — and bring a friend!

Texas Republicans are increasingly getting their orders from DC politicians instead of their own constituents. It's up to the Attorney General to push back against unconstitutional laws that serve outsiders over Texans. What happened to putting Texas first?

Nathan Johnson @nathanfortexas.bsky.social · 22/04/2026
Quality has gone down, prices have gone up, and consumers are being manipulated. As AG, I will make sure that powerful corporations don't control the rules of the game, and are forced to compete.

Nathan Johnson @nathanfortexas.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
Powerful interests trying to pay to play? Not on my watch. It’s up to the Attorney General to set clear expectations and prevent trouble before it starts. Because the rules only work if they’re enforced — consistently and without hesitation.

No one is more dedicated to defending Texans’ fundamental rights and freedoms than Wendy Davis. I’m honored to have her endorsement in the race for Texas Attorney General. With leaders like her on our side, we can build a stronger, more just future for every Texan.

Over the weekend, Hungarian voters kicked Viktor Orban, their far-right, authoritarian leader, out of office. Dictators and demagogues have had their moment. It’s time for serious government — at home and around the world.

As Attorney General, I will sue the Trump Administration when they break the law — which is frequent. I will not allow the President, or anyone else to violate the Constitution, steal our tax dollars, or bully our state.

We don’t get to choose who will replace Pam Bondi, but we do get to choose who will be the next Texas AG. It's time to elect a Texas AG who upholds the rule of law, prosecutes corruption, and protects your fundamental rights. I'm running for AG because Texas needs a good lawyer.

Being a public servant means getting things done. And I have a record of doing just that. I was elected to serve my constituents and that’s precisely what I’ll do as Texas Attorney General.

The winning candidate in November will be the one who can earn support across the political spectrum. Texas Democrats, Independents, and Republicans alike want an AG who’s serious about doing the work. I can win tough races like this one and I have the record to prove it.

I’m grateful to have Dallas’ own @clayjenkins.bsky.social among our growing list of Democratic endorsements. His dedication to public service has earned him the trust of Texans across Dallas County and beyond. Proud to have him in our corner ahead of May’s runoff election.

We’ve come close before, but close isn’t good enough. The stakes are too high. This time, we win. Lifelong Democrats, disaffected Republicans, and people who just haven’t been tuned in to politics are ready to turn the page on incompetence and chaos.

No, state legislatures cannot overrule the U.S. Supreme Court. Yet Congressman and Texas AG candidate Chip Roy held a hearing yesterday to encourage just that. Texas needs a good lawyer, not another actor in the right-wing political theater.

We have a strong Democratic ticket that will move Texas forward. Texans are sick of the corruption, incompetence, and abuse of power we’ve seen from the Republican Party. Our vision is clear. Our determination is strong. And we’re ready to win in November.

With voucher applications closing, data shows less than 1% of Texas public school families applied for a voucher. Last year, I warned the Senate that vouchers would mainly benefit private school kids who can already afford to pay. This was never about school choice. Watch below:

The Gámez-Cuéllar family did everything right and still ended up wrongly detained by ICE. Trump's DHS is not going after “the worst of the worst”— they’re abducting families to stoke fear. The rule of law is a shield, not a trap. I will not allow our government to weaponize it.
