Canada is not actually 'battling for survival' in the context of secession, because in both Alberta and Quebec secession has relatively small amounts of public support. What we're battling is dipshit far-right populist politicians enabling/pushing for this destructive bullshit.

US foreign interference serious enough for CSIS to meet with CAQ and multiple meetings between the federal government and the province should be a major diplomatic incident if the US government is at all involved.

jesus fucking christ

Ottawa has warned the Quebec government against the possibility of US interference in the current election campaign, which is aimed at favouring the election of a sovereignist government.

At the beginning of September, a senior official in the Fréchette government received a call from a counterpart in the Mark Carney government, we have learned.

He was offered the option of going to a "neutral location, where there were no cameras", and was forbidden from bringing his cell phone.

Another film factoid of 9/11 is that it turned out to be a very bad, no good day to have as a release date for a creative, weird indie movie called Donnie Darko that featured... a plane tragedy. Donnie Darko opened & died on the first day, only to be discovered the next year on video store shelves.

Sooner or later, what your state system walks past without stopping, still less enables, is the reality of your state system, because a system is what it does. Those to whom that is done unchecked may have a far more acute perception of those realities than those convinced it’s an aberration.
