Downloads of FF#27 continue to be sluggish, which is a shame because I think it's a really top notch issue. Anyway, as punishment you must suffer additional promotion. Go read at www.fusionfragment.com/issue-27/
One of those trope promo images, with the curly arrows pointing to fun tropes, with FF#27 in the center. Lemme go counterclockwise here and tell you the tropes, starting at the top:

-Free to read
-Pretty much every character in it is not completely OK
-Invisible lions
-Death by plant
-The liquid ones are watching you right now!!!
-I really want you to read it. Yes, you specifically. The others don't matter to me. Not like you do.
-That "we're here to have a bad time" Trent Reznor meme.

Story #4 in the debut issue of Saros SF is "Rent-A-Joe" by @thesuiway.bsky.social. Read the whole story (for free!) at sarossf.com/issue-1/
"Rent-a-Joe" by A.D. Sui

Mornings are a pain in the ass and this one blows them all out of the water.
Two guys in suits, what’s left of their suits, lay in various degrees of disassembly in the bathtub. Joe doesn’t know how they got there, but he usually doesn’t know how he gets to his apartment every night. That’s the perk of being a Rentable with Rent-A-Body™. Joe never has to remember any of his night work, never does any of it conscious. He goes to sleep at the terminal and wakes up with his bank account a thousand units fatter. Easy.

Story #3 in the debut issue of Saros SF is "Four Fabrications of Francine Descartes" by @timjmajor.bsky.social. Read the whole story (for free!) at sarossf.com/issue-1/
"Four Fabrications on Francine Descartes" by Tim Major

After closing the door I pause, absorbing all that I have been told. I am an intelligent man, with wits perhaps beyond my station, and the information provided by Descartes has set something moving in my mind. There is a world beyond the practical, a world of thought and ideas. It is seductive. But it would be wrong to barrage a passenger with questions. The model that dictates the successful operation of this ship would not allow for it. I begin to move away from the door—but then I stop again at the sound of voices. One belongs to Descartes. The other is the voice of a young girl.

Story #2 in the debut issue of Saros SF is "Looking Glass" by @thelialao.bsky.social. Read the whole thing (for free!) at sarossf.com/issue-1/
"Looking Glass" by Lia Lao

It’s almost laughable that she couldn’t make the trip in person. Still, you know why. It’s because she can’t stand to see you. You, her daughter. You, her fallen masterpiece. The one who’s torn herself apart with her own hands.
She used to brag about how carefully she created you. How she consulted the best doctors—grew ten mirror images in a laboratory—and decided you were the one who deserved to live.
You weren’t the smartest. You weren’t the strongest. But you were the prettiest and the most amenable and that was what mattered to her.

The first story in Saros #1 is "Exhibition" by @lxuwrites.bsky.social. Check out the first paragraph and read the rest (for free!) here: sarossf.com/issue-1/
"Exhibition" by Lu Xu

In her dreams, Gael has been fantasizing about stepping barefoot onto the Earth’s grass again. Here on this foreign planet, the land her feet touch is navy blue, so much so that if you flew the space shuttle across a field you would think it an ocean. There is no ocean here, just storms and rain, but when she sleeps she can still taste the saltiness of the endless sea. That is home—where the flora is verdant and the soil is crumbly and brown, not azure. When it thunders here, calamitously, she dreams about the peach trees and the love and the cars. The crows and the elephants and the rats and the sharks.
