@ben3d.ca I'm super fascinated by your Exocortex concept. Reading ben3d.ca/blog/origins... noticed a minor typo in the final sentence of the first paragraph - need a "d" at the end of "supervise." Very cool work.

I asked the one high ranking policeman I saw on 5th Ave why there were so few police. He said “We did not expect anything like this. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve only got 44 officers out here — and it’s a great crowd, great event, no incidents.”

Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

Holy shit: the weirdo running Social Security added administrative burdens to service delivery in Maine after its Governor disagreed with Trump over trans athletes. The idea that public services should be provided consistently and honestly seems beyond them. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/24/u...
In another instance, the Social Security Administration briefly ended a contract that had allowed parents of newborn babies in Maine to sign their children up for a Social Security number at the hospital, instead requiring them to do so in person at an office. Mr. Dudek said he had ordered the move after watching Janet Mills, Maine’s Democratic governor, clash with Mr. Trump at the White House. He quickly reversed that decision, as well as another to end electronic death reporting in the state.

Democrats can quickly and forcefully address this national security scandal with one of their most powerful tools: Congressional Oversight. These powers include privileged impeachment motions, requests for GAO investigations, congressional letters, and formal or informal hearings.
