The score right now doesn't reflect it, but this is the most complete baseball I've seen the Yankees play in a long, long time. Maybe the Red Sox are cooked, and maybe the Yankees won't keep this up against better competition, but I wasn't expecting them to hit like this

I find it so funny that MLB says these proposals for transaction periods are contingent on a salary cap, as if the league thinks a free-agent window would make the players more willing to agree to a cap. The players don’t want transaction windows either

The Pirates were annoyed about it, and after Monday night’s benches-clearing incident, instigated by Dennis Santana, MLB told the umpires to crack down. The Yankees weren’t notified about the change in enforcement. What happened — the violation today — is seemingly what MLB wanted to happen.
