Some important history to Berkeley's unique opposition to a bike lane on San Pablo: About ~ 6 years ago when it was proposed, the city held a meeting at San Pablo Park to discuss it. I was there. A horde of violent drivers showed up and a few *promised to kill* any cyclists who used the bike lane.
