Great news! @governor.ca.gov has signed my SB 881, the Farmer to Food Bank Tax Credit. SB 881 enables farmers, growers, and food producers to continue to provide fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and more to food-insecure families and receive tax credits for donating surplus food to food banks.

I agree with Mr. Amodei, Altman and others that serious guardrails are past due for artificial intelligence. Ideally, safety standards or protocols would already be in place, but since no real constraints exist, targeted moratoria are urgently needed.

Yes! The CA Assembly today unanimously approved my SB 1168, Data Centers Pay Their Fair Share. SB 1168 would direct the CPUC to examine data centers’ use of excessive amounts of energy and ensure Californians don’t face rate hikes as a result. SB 1168 heads back to the Senate for one final vote.
