Foreign babies were 2% of all newborns in 2018. In 2025, the figure rose to 3.3%. The prefectures with the highest rates of foreign newborns are Gunma (7.5%), Aichi (5.3%), Chiba (5.2%), Saitama (5.2%) and Gifu (5.2%). www.nikkei.com/article/DGXZ...

Toyo Keizai ranks municipalities with rising nominal foreign population and shrinking Japanese population. In some cases, more foreigners make up for fewer Japanese. However, more than half of the top 50 in this list saw a net decline in population. toyokeizai.net/articles/-/9...

This is happening in Akita City too. Houses with gardens of trees and flowers being knocked down and replaced with smaller houses, concrete drives and car ports. Some have fake grass too. Then people complain about flooding....
