An example of this is “ending the triple lock to provide a national care service” The pensions change won’t deliver any revenue until after 2030, and will not raise anywhere near enough to pay for a National Care Service even by 2040 Is that really tackling the care challenge?

Andy Burnham has such huge Nick Clegg energy, I’m genuinely amazed that so many people seem to be falling for it Warm rhetoric to keep key supporter groups happy means nowt if they’re still following the same economic policies I’m expecting massive disappointment and anger to land in ~6 months

Amazing result in a ward I know well Queen’s Park has moved back and forth between Green & Labour for 20 years, so it is a real bellwether ward This is the highest ever vote share for @bhgreens.bsky.social here and shows that Greens can still win against Labour despite the current ‘Burnham bounce’

This is an interesting read, but falls into a common trap. We seem to think we have to be super positive about climate change in order to win people over The reality is that none of these tipping points will happen while GHG emissions continue to increase greenfuturessolutions.com/news/tipping...

Oh dear There is no ‘gap’; there is an excess of CO2 in our atmosphere. Extracting more oil & gas to burn will only add to it, not magically get us to a reduction. We are governed by idiots, or psychopaths. Or both

I still don’t think people realise how bad things will get if we don’t make drastic and immediate changes Each human has 1 tonne of CO2 we can emit per year, and 1 acre of farmland we can live off. We need to limit our consumption to that, or we will face catastrophe
