In my experience, “testimony is evidence” is one of the hardest concepts to get laypeople to understand. I see it all the time: “there’s no evidence, just someone’s words” yeah and if those words are under oath, that’s evidence, baby.

Q. Okay. You stated that you were receiving phone calls and
texts from threats. Do you know who these threats came from?
A. No. They were -- I mean, I think what I learned very quickly is how very available information is. So they were
not people I knew.
Q. And they contacted you, you said. Did they text you?
A. I received some phone calls to my personal phone, and then
I know that the university received phone calls. And I
received other forms of messages on various apps and email
through a couple -- both work email and an email I had
connected to my oral history project.
Q. Can you tell me when these texts, emails, or threats started?

A. Immediately after the TikToks. After you started posting TikToks, I would receive ones that would say things like, "Is this true?" And they got worse over time.
Q. How worse? What were they -- did they threaten you? What
were they -- what was being said to you? I'm sorry.
A. Yes. They called me horrific names. They called my kids
horrific names.
Q. Is this on email?
A. Some of them were on email and, like I said, other apps
over the phone.
Q. Did you plan to submit evidence to support your statement
that random people were threatening you?
MS. OLSON: Objection, Your Honor, as to the --
Q. (BY MS. GUILLARD) Do you have evidence to support your
claim that people were --
MS. GUILLARD: That's not good?
