The RV ban will have a full council vote sometime in October. As I reported in August, there is justified concern around the impacts this policy move will have on the local homeless population, with one possible outcome being more unhoused folks ending up on the street.

In this morning's budget meeting, Councilmember Bob Kettle fulminated angrily that the budget should fund an additional 150 police officers a year, without saying how. He also stated confidently that hiring bonuses work to increase lateral hiring, which is not what a study by the city found.

Just reading up on the city budget (been on vacation). There are a number of strange errors and misconstruals in the Seattle Times' coverage, including a reference ot "Seattle's income tax" (we don't have one) and spending outpacing revenue in a worsening economy (that's not what caused the deficit)

"Signs of Fascism" originated in my town. (Sequim, WA) I filmed it. I remember getting a call, "hey your video got 5,000 views." By the end of the day it had 60K.
