And I think they're wrong. The focus, their focus, should be on a) the economy, and b) working people. Trying to offer a barely diluted version of the UCP's energy and economic policies gives their voters no reason to switch and non-UCP voters no reason to consider an alternative.

Glad to see more pro-Canada sentiment from the business community. They appropriately point out the importance of immigrants to the province but no mention of the referendum questions on immigration policy. Should have been explicit IMO. Still acknowledging grievances too. Ugh, that vein runs deep.

Separation could also make it more challenging for Alberta to attract the labour needed to advance investment and capital projects. With 49 per cent of Albertans born outside the province or country, people moving to Alberta have been an important source of labour and tax revenue, bringing with them education funded by taxpayers in other jurisdictions, to the tune of $120 billion - one quarter of Alberta's
GDP.
