Meta refuse to take action on genuine antisemitism. I have reported so many comments on posts about video games that use antisemitic slurs (followed by "slop") and dog whistle (or just yell) conspiracies that anything "woke" is part of a plot by Jewish people to destroy white people.

I reiterate: the fight should not be to save physical media. I get it, but that was always going away. The fight should be to overhaul digital ownership laws. It should be illegal that we cannot play anything we bought digitally on PS3/4/Vita on the PS5, 6, etc. It should be *illegal*.

Last night I watched Final Destination: Bloodlines. It is certainly a Final Destination movie, so enjoyable and silly in equal measure. I think it is always interesting how Death, as a character, is personified because it's mostly a petty trickster who loves Rube-Golberg Machines and revenge.

Fermanagh is lucky to have two local papers currently, and a couple of more historically. During my PhD, they were invaluable as an historic record, perhaps not always of fact but certainly of local vibe and concern. If we were to rely on the Belfast papers or British/Irish press we'd know nothing.

I think one of the real challenges in discussing anything to do with trans people is that the media simply cannot accept that the anti-position is entirely eliminationist. There is no way to "exist in public whilst trans" that they will accept, right down to celebrating a doctor quitting.

The study does not remotely say that science “leans hard left.” Nor does the fact that academics left the Nazis-and-child-porn website for a different website mean they’re producing biased evidence. All of the major threats to science in 2026 come from the right.
