These people shouldn’t make policy.
There has been a great effort over many years to distance AI Safety
discussion from its origin and intellectual center, because its center is
predatory sex cult started by a fan fiction author. Since those involved

Safety is, effectively, a smokescreen for this core group and their ideas
We might some day have “AI Safety”, as a science or policy area, that

AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”
APStylebook @APStylebook

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

The headline and subheading both lead with a persona, not a name. Only the photo caption presents this in a way that names the person and subordinates the weirdness. Why?
Screenshot from the Philadelphia Inquirer with headline about a troubled and dangerous young man named Braden Peters. It does not mention his name and refers to both his online presence and an absurd term “looksmaxxing” described better below as “an online subculture dedicated to improving male attractiveness”. The subhead also puts his made up persona first but does name him. There is a photo of the guy and only the caption labels the image with his name first.

From Note G, p. 722

It is desirable to guard against the possibility of exag-
gerated ideas that might arise as to the powers of the Ana-
lytical Engine. In considering any new subject, there is
frequently a tendency, first, to overrate what we find to be
already interesting or remarkable; and, secondly, by a sort
of natural reaction, to undervalue the true state of the case,
when we do discover that our notions have surpassed those
that were really tenable.
