The questions currently unsettling me are: - will they also broadcast his last words? By rights they should, which makes me think they won’t - will he be in his wheelchair or re they going to prop him up against a wall? - who exactly are the people who volunteer for such a duty?

Gender and natal sex are extremely different concepts. And anyway a properly designed unisex bathroom isn't going to permit leering. Anyone I've been in has nice stalls/cubicles with full height doors and walls; not the weird half height stuff in most US bathrooms

I work in tech and I don’t recall ever being on a project that was blocked on how much code we could produce. They’re blocked due to competing priorities, company politics, ill-defined objectives, budget, concerns about maintainability/sustainability, etc. AI doesn’t fix that stuff

Whatever work Geller has done, it is inherently untrustworthy because of this lack of structure. Yes, we should have restorative justice systems. Yes, rehabilitation should be a goal when people wrong each other. But we do not have the former, so we cannot trust the latter.

Similarly with the residency requirement. 5 and 8 years are both arbitrary numbers. What is the specific good this is supposed to do for Ireland? Cause when I look at my friends and coworkers with 4+ years the bad is very obvious!

And for what it’s worth I (as an immigrant) think the tests are defensible, but I haven’t seen the government defend them. ARE there a lot of Irish citizens who don’t speak any language? Is this causing specific problems? Will the tests solve them?
