Canada should be investing in electrification and clean power, not another oil pipeline. The Pacific Link pipeline will increase emissions and is a risky bet for public funds, as long-term oil demand weakens. It should not be designated as a project of national interest. 🔗 buff.ly/BbuAlfq

I keep meeting smart informed Albertans who tell me they do not intend to vote, because they don’t want to legitimize the process, or because they know the premier is not bound by the results. But what if making us give up on voting is the whole point? My argument to vote - no matter the absurdity.

One of the big lies that the foreign disinformation campaign targeting the Alberta Separation movement spreads is the claim that a yes-vote doesnt really mean separation, it just provides a stronger negotiation position within Federation. Tell that to the people who regret voting for Brexit.

Doug Ford doesn’t know about or care about what works or doesn’t work in city-building. He’s fine with hurting the city (and by extension the provincial economy), killing people, wasting public money, and making congestion worse. It’s about ego, ideology & red meat wedge issues for suburban voters.

During the Turbot War of 1995, Canadian authorities intercepted the Spanish trawler Estai and brought it into St. John’s, where the harbour was thronged. There were fears of ugly scenes and violence. Instead, 6,000 Newfoundlanders sang “Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary’s.” They’re god’s people.
