This is not punitive as a primary objective so most cities wouldn’t do it… just like fines for “fare evasion” are often wayyyy higher than parking fines or other illegal shit people do driving cars, punishing people is why cities invest in fare inspectors. It also costs more than they “recover”

Another elected dumbfuck who wants it to be a requirement to own a car to live. In 2026, with gas prices, insurance rates, auto tariffs, more auto tariffs coming in January to publicly say this shit, is such gutter stupidity it should be disqualifying

It’s this shit that makes me despair for how gullible and collectively stupid we are. Look, 2.5% increases! Don’t look at the intentionally messy shit show of other numbers I’m gunna jack to try and make up the the difference. And people hear 2.5% once before voting and that’s all they need

Yes uncertified batteries are a problem and the certification extends to the chargers. UL certified chargers are smart chargers that automatically shut off when they detect battery temps rising above certain thresholds or too quickly. The lack of regulation all around seems intentional

*whispers* You don't have to tape things directly to a pole if you are able to fully wrap around a pole and stick the sticky thing back on itself.

I’ve never seen so many city and department comms products in all the time I’ve been on Bluesky and instagram, like ever. It’s confirming my priors about the utter lack of political independence the city machine has from politicians in power

I’m fucking tired of the “fear mongering” criticism. No, not fear mongering cuz you can’t see the forest for the fucking trees. Nothing about this is a surprise. It’s been obvious this was the trajectory once New Brunswick kicked this shit off.

This "put a sticker over it" approach to infrastructure maintenance could really go places. Think of the money the Feds could have saved on Parliament with just a vinyl wrap instead of a big renovation.

The downtown #ottawa BIA parked their vehicle on the sidewalk and proceeded to announce their exciting new project of wrapping all the poles in an anti-stick material to help make the city look, direct quote, “clean and well maintained” Jesus Christ this is pathetic

If we had a federal government that wasn't firmly up the ass of Big AI, they'd make it a crime for an AI to put people in mortal danger by sending them into wilderness areas with fictional instructions. If a human kept doing this, they'd probably go to jail, even under existing laws.

I’m still riding my prediction that if the #alberta bullshit referendum tanks, Pollievire breaks the Conservative Party and we get a western Bloq federally and a PQ provincially, cuz Pierre, like Smith, is in it to win it for power and he has no future as a conservative leader

This is an interesting photo to go along with what was written. That's the Greenbank Realignment project, a very expensive, very wide, suburban road project - not housing. And the area surrounding it, south Barrhaven, is the complete opposite of the "vibrant, walkable communities" he speaks about.

“Do not touch my car” is a common phrase from car sociopaths. They think their car is part of their body. They’re fine with blithely, you know, killing someone, but if anybody bags on their hood to let them know they’re driving badly, that’s too much.
