Montana Dem Sam Forstag just refused to throw trans people under the bus in the MT-01 debate: “Keep politics the heck out of it.” He said government has no business in sports or telling parents what to do. It’s the most competitive House race in the country. Subscribe to support our journalism.

“Keep Politics The Heck Out Of It”: In Toss-Up MT-01 Race, Dem Sam Forstag Refuses To Throw Trans People Under The Bus
The Democratic candidate accused his republican opponent Aaron Flint supporting people who would “pick our pocket” by distracting voters with anti-transgender attacks.

Notably, Jarosław Wolski, the Polish political scientist who was a primary source of the AfD social media bot claim, has now retracted his statement and apologised (more of this, please!). German journalists have also confirmed the graph was fake and AI-generated.
Apologies and Correction.
I would like to apologize to all Readers for providing false information and a graphic suggesting that bot activity around AfD had dropped by 56%.
According to the findings of @niebezpiecznik, which cites the opinion of the Cemas research institute, the Hasso Plattner Institute, and the
"Polisphere" think tank, there has been no permanent and measurable decrease in pro-AfD posts. Moreover, the original graphic in German turned out to be Al-generated.
Unfortunately, my post with the disinformation reached millions of views, for which I would like to apologize to all readers once again. Of course, I take full responsibility for what I did, and simply and humanly, I am ashamed that I misinformed you. I also apologize to the contested opponents who were the first to point out that I was wrong.
To avoid further disinformation, I have deleted the post. From now on, in topics not strictly related to the military, I will adopt the principle of providing citations or original sources whenever possible. Or clearly stating their absence/unclear source of information so that it is visibly evident in the post.
JW.
Rate this translation:.! A German journalist has tracked down the original graphic that sparked a wave of controversial (to put it mildly, untrue) reports yesterday and today about a drop in activity from Russian bots/trolls.
He created it-"24-year-old steward Frank"—and marked it as ...generated by Al (which we already suspected yesterday).
Unfortunately, the politicians who shared this material further failed to keep that marking (intentionally or by accident 1ºr) and didn't indicate the source either.
What's more, the German research institute Cemas, which deals with disinformation, the Hasso Plattner Institute, and the Polisphere think tank have officially X denied observing any drop in the number of posts that could be explained by an attack on Yandex.
"Neither the activity of existing bots nor the rate of creating new ones has declined, as shown by the data we're collecting."
Well, those are data from Germany, though. Meanwhile, in Poland, Minister Siemoniak said that "ABW has noted a radical drop in the activity of Russian bots online. This is a phenomenon observed worldwide after the bombing of three data centers."
But ABW hasn't publicized anything on this matter so far. Here's hoping they do. That would be something!! For now, we know that "worldwide" apparently means everywhere except Germany...

Y’all, I hate to rain on the dead bot parade, but the Yandex data center destruction doesn’t seem to have significantly impacted social media bots. I made temporal graphs of X posts about AfD around the time of the attack and there’s no sign of a sudden dip or residual impact on that conversation.

kinda funny that liberals seem to care more ab trump's sexuality than his base. this isn't a gotcha. he's saying this to a stadium full of people. centrists fail to understand that bigotry is not an axiomatic system but a power structure. trump is allowed to be a little bisexual bc of his position.

AI math is principally marketing. no one outside of math gives a shit about our critique of the proofs, how they're published, how half of them are wrong, b/c they just dismiss it as mathematicians trying to protect their livelihood. i have no idea what to do about this besides radicalism.

They can't indict 100,000 people. theintercept.com/2026/10/12/m...
There are committed anarchists among the defendants charged in the indictment, several defendants told The Intercept, but there was little difference between what they did and what thousands of Minneapolis residents did during the federal immigration crackdown.
Ordinary Minnesotans walked frigid streets with whistles dangling from their necks to alert their neighbors about ICE raids. They sent license plate numbers of federal vehicles to Signal group chats. Members of rapid-response networks trailed suspected agents in their cars.

more offensive than the massive constants: the alleged computational complexity is only true if you use a magical computer architecture that will never exist.
I’m particularly doubtful here, because the model of “computation” OpenAI uses bears no resemblance to an actual computer.

“The model uses exact complex arithmetic.” That means it assumes you can store and multiply complex numbers at arbitrary precision. Indeed, the algorithm requires you to multiply complex numbers whose magnitudes grow superpolynomially with n. If you stored these numbers as bits, the memory requirement would effectively be exponential in the input length. It assumes you can multiply such arbitrarily large complex numbers together in a single operation. We do not have computers that can do this. So even if this theorem in main.pdf is “true” (no one knows, and I don’t care), it’s not actually solving the problem we set out to solve when looking for a faster FFT.

it's good to see this laid out clearly, but i'm once again going to point to Peter Naur's 1985 essay "Programming as Theory Building"
The present discussion is a contribution to the understanding of what programming is. It suggests that programming properly should be regarded as an activity by which the programmers form or achieve a certain kind of insight, a theory, of the matters at hand. This suggestion is in contrast to what appears to be a more common notion, that programming should be regarded as a production of a program and certain other texts.
