Legitimately one of the coolest experiences of my life. Beat the Devs on 11th and 28th in Manhattan. That's a game I'm in, being played on the side of a building, in the middle of downtown NYC. WILD.

Taken from Facebook, this is cool as heck - Researchers at Antarctica's Maitri Station made a Ganesha idol out of snow for the Ganesh Chaturthi puja, and then they performed the visarjan ceremony, the immersion to return the idol to nature, by putting it in a bucket of water. Just super charming.

Technology being everywhere doesn’t mean it belongs everywhere. The tech industry wants us to believe that AI in early education is not only inevitable, but necessary. We don't see it that way. This week, we announced a moratorium on generative AI for public school students in 2-K to 8th grade.

We’re eliminating AI use for students in 2-K through 8th grade for the upcoming school year.

Normal Beetles: coming to stationary near you (not really, but wouldn't that be fun?)

simple cartoon designs representing real beetles.
upper left: "Xen" is a Xenomorphon. A wingless beetle who cries easily. He always wants to watch the same three movies.
upper right: "Atra" is an Atractocerus. A very long and flexible beetle who can fit in narrow areas. He gets nervous in big crowds.
lower left: "Clav" is a Claviger. A beetle who is always showing up in places without having been invited. He's a nice guy, though, so everyone is usually okay with it.
lower right: "Para" is a Paratuposa. A very small and light beetle who is blown around by strong wind. She brushes her wings for two hours every day.

upper left: "Cal" is a Calodromus. A beetle with long legs who actually hates running. When he gets angry, he kicks things.
upper right: "Platy" is a Platyrhopalopsis. A shy beetle who loves peace and quiet. She always gets nervous when it's her turn to order at restaurants.
lower left: "Kero" is a Cerocranus. A fussy beetle who cares a lot about his looks. He is often late to things, because he gets distracted by mirrors and windows.
lower right: "Ness" is a Cnestus. A small beetle who knows a lot about mushrooms. If she starts talking about something she likes, she will never stop.

upper left: "Mike" is a Micromalthus. A pleasant beetle who always tries to look at the bright side of things. People ask her when she will get married, but she says she is happy by herself.
upper right: "Koto" is a Coatonachthodes. A small beetle with a big tail that looks like a termite. Her tail isn't alive, but sometimes she talks to it when she thinks no one is listening.
lower left: "Mel" is a Meloetyphlus. A loud beetle who loves the sound of her own voice. Even though she has a huge head, she forgets things easily.
lower right: "Trak" is a Trachelismus. A beetle who can always see over the crowd at concerts. He has been getting into origami lately.

RE: GIVE US YOUR MONEY, CUR

Preview: Thought you’d got away clean, huh?

Had fun on our website, did you? Course you did. It’s great.

But you think you can come around here, put items in your basket, and then swan off without checking out?

On MY WEBSITE?

I got a call from the half-dozen bug-eyed, pallid dorks we locked in the computer room until they agreed to make and run us a shop. (Yeah! We still have a computer room! What of it?) They were in tears. Really upset. They’ve spent so much time on that website, and between you and me I think they’ve figured out that we really have no intention of releasing them so this is pretty much all they have to live for - and you’d take this away from them?

There’s three outcomes I can see:
- You click here, buy whatever was in your basket, maybe throw an extra copy of Spire or something in there as an apology, and we say no more about it
- I come over to your house and stomp about on your roof until you see the error of your ways
- I have to walk down all fifteen flights of stairs from my marble and obsidian office suite (we don’t believe in elevators at RRD) and calm down the dorks by putting blankets over their heads and singing jazz classics to them under my breath

Take it from me: you don’t want me on your roof. Years of aged brandy and luxury desserts have left me hefty and cantankerous. And the dorks don’t want me to put blankets on their heads, and I can’t sing, so if anything it makes the situation worse and that just makes me angrier.

I think we can both see how this is going to shake out.

Love,

Grant “Big Money” Howitt

War consumes 16th century Japan. Chivalry and loyalty fade and fall as castles and ambitions rise. Navigate both battlefield and court politics as you rewrite history in gunpowder, blood, and betrayal. Thousand Arrows by @lulavampiro.bsky.social Available now: www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5...

An illustration of an epic naval battle. Warriors in 16th century Japanese armor wield polearms and grappling hooks as they swarm a ship amid the crashing waves of a turbulent sea. More ships burn with fire on the horizon. Scattered warriors have fallen into the sea and struggle to stay afloat. The sky is an ominous gray.

Play knight-commanders, religious luminaries, spymasters, and rebels desperately trying to rewrite history in gunpowder, blood and betrayal in Thousand Arrows by @lulavampiro.bsky.social This PbtA game of samurai warfare, drama, and tragedy returns in PDF & POD: www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5...

The cover of Thousand Arrows featuring an illustration of a female warrior wearing 16th century Japanese armor and carrying a musket. A sword is strapped to her belt and a Japanese fortress burning in the background. Caption: A role-playing game of samurai drama by James Mendez Hodes

A classical Japanese illustration of Ukiyo-e of Oda Nobunga by Utagawa Kuniyoshi. A Japanese warrior rips a banner in half. He wears a red cloak with a floral pattern over blue robes printed with a hexagonal pattern. Two swords are affixed to his belt. Caption: Oda Clan. Domain Echizen and Owari Provinces. Play this clan if... you want to go into every battle with the odds on your side.

The introductory page of The Secret Agent playbook. A figure wearing long robes and a horned devil mask stoops down on one knee to examine the grass next to the bloody hand of a dead warrior. Next to that, a quote from Takamatsu Toshitsugo: As shinobu ho or shinobu waza (the art of stealth) came to be called ninjutsu, true ninjas began to realize that they should be enlightened of humanity. They tried to avoid unreasonable conflicts or fighting. I learned from my master that the ninjas' duty is to be enlightened on the laws of humanity. There should be no fighting that does not follow those rules. Therefore, the enemy who stands against the laws of nature has lost his battle before he begins the fight. The first priority to the ninja was to win without fighting, and that remains the way.
