We did it, but just barely. Watched every single thing nominated for an Oscar. If everyone would watch the documentaries and international films, I’m confident the world would be a better place. But if you could only watch 1 movie, I’d suggest watching Memoir of a Snail. That one blew me away.

Not to mention we never actually properly addressed COVID, and there are measles outbreaks in at least 6 states rn. Death is not the only outcome to care about. They can say “MAHA” as much as they want but this is very specifically (and avoidably) how you increase “chronic illness” in a population

I’ll never forget the moment a client told me she hadn’t been sick in 5 years. I can’t remember if this was in 2020 or 2021, but she lost her streak after getting covid. Regardless, this isn’t really about her. I just remember how gobsmacked I was when she told me. 5 years without feeling ill.

Regarding claims that covid is now like any other virus: As a doc, you have to earn the right to reassure. You have to know, based on scientific evidence, when it is okay to reassure. When it is okay to say "the treatment is the same as any other viral infection." You can't just say stuff.

There are so many changes and life lessons I learned in 2024, but my biggest win was putting in a smart plug at my work studio. Now I can turn on my wax pot from home and not stress about that one very important detail. It only took me 7.5 years to do, but better late than never, I guess.
