Somewhat surprised to see Legend of Zelda anniversary concert tickets available after leaving the laptop to queue for more than an hour while I nipped down to survey the (still super overpriced at 30% off) wasteland that is Leatherhead TG Jones. However, also very pleased.

Had to talk the Sainers delivery driver in remotely to kiddo's student house in Headingley and it was so nice to hear a Leeds accent again. Looking forward to heading up that way in October.

St Helier hospital can’t keep a good Irish guitarist down. So glad dad made it out for his party and to some music with loads of his mates.
My dad. Bowed but not broken (much. Well maybe a lot). Looking 81 but snazzy with his Gibson playing with his classical guitarist friend from around here. Dad is wearing mostly green bc he is Irish and spends most of his time dying his clothes into 40 shades. A very tired arm holding a microphone to the bottom right. Windows and venue grounds in the back ground.

You don't have to care for his music, but George Formby was a legend. And with his wife Beryl standing right behind him, possibly cracking her knuckles.

I hope security measures are put in place to keep the good honest English folk of Horton Cum Studley safe from the filthy foreign devils of Piddington. As was made clear to me yesterday, you can't just have foreign men near English women unattended, who knows what the Piddish savages will do.

Spectacular Roman octopus mosaic from the floor of the women’s changing room at the Central Baths in ancient Herculaneum. 📷 by me #MosaicMonday #Archaeology
My photo shows a monochrome Roman floor mosaic depicting an octopus. The octopus is composed of small black tesserae (tiles) and has eight writhing arms with suckers and narrow curling tips. It is set against a white tesserae background. This octopus detail comes from a monochrome marine mosaic featuring Triton with a cherub and various sea creatures which include the octopus, dolphins and a cuttlefish. From the floor of the women's changing room at the Central Baths in Herculaneum.

Tolworth tower. Endlessly ominous.
Tolworth tower view from the a3. Suburban commuter housing to the left. Slightly roiling clouds. Colour photo but naturally tending to a monochrome moody.

Me spotting the weekend
Photo of a bronze statue of Diana from Pompeii in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. Pic taken crouching so Diana’s gaze is right in the eyeballs. She looks a bit Whovian with one missing hand but the fully intact arm is definitely about to grab the weekend very very hard.
