West Horsley Place (Button House) hosting a pre-release drice in cinema and reception screening of the movie … the poster is very Ghosts. Gosh I always forget how much I love Kitty.

Adding olive farmer to my resume
A weedy little b&q olive tree. I have let him get leggy. His pot is a crappy bright green plastic thing. He is standing against a very charming brick wall. And he has TWO olives (plus one out of shot). One a respectable size but still green and the other an officially ripe looking one).

Okay I know the world is on fire and capitalism and the bastards are in charge but also Waitrose rustic baguettes are really grim and I really miss the French stonebaked version.

Two things stick out that were clear signs of things to come. A famous person pretending to fall in the snow and the whole of U.K. twitter losing its mind that he might be fatally injured, and same personality doxxing some 18yo girl who argued with him about her brother’s GCSE results.

Having spent ages flip flopping about buying tickets for an additional Rush date in London, it’s actually a relief that Geddy Lee has now made that decision far easier.

Somewhat surprised to see Legend of Zelda anniversary concert tickets available after leaving the laptop to queue for more than an hour while I nipped down to survey the (still super overpriced at 30% off) wasteland that is Leatherhead TG Jones. However, also very pleased.

St Helier hospital can’t keep a good Irish guitarist down. So glad dad made it out for his party and to some music with loads of his mates.
My dad. Bowed but not broken (much. Well maybe a lot). Looking 81 but snazzy with his Gibson playing with his classical guitarist friend from around here. Dad is wearing mostly green bc he is Irish and spends most of his time dying his clothes into 40 shades. A very tired arm holding a microphone to the bottom right. Windows and venue grounds in the back ground.

Same. Even the WH Smith vibe and pricing couldn’t take away the magic of random stationery and crafting supplies. Plus where else could you see this level of high street ennui (from back in Feb so clearly dialling it in for months now).
WH Smith’s shop floor. In the education section. An expanse of blue carpet and lots of crates where they must have already been shipping stock out to more exciting climes. Some dismantled shelves stacked by the fire door. Knock off squishmallows strewn everywhere.

I hope security measures are put in place to keep the good honest English folk of Horton Cum Studley safe from the filthy foreign devils of Piddington. As was made clear to me yesterday, you can't just have foreign men near English women unattended, who knows what the Piddish savages will do.

Spectacular Roman octopus mosaic from the floor of the women’s changing room at the Central Baths in ancient Herculaneum. 📷 by me #MosaicMonday #Archaeology
My photo shows a monochrome Roman floor mosaic depicting an octopus. The octopus is composed of small black tesserae (tiles) and has eight writhing arms with suckers and narrow curling tips. It is set against a white tesserae background. This octopus detail comes from a monochrome marine mosaic featuring Triton with a cherub and various sea creatures which include the octopus, dolphins and a cuttlefish. From the floor of the women's changing room at the Central Baths in Herculaneum.

No, that is also not a good way to start the week. Am v conflicted at the mo as round here less wasps (yay) but also i assume biodiversity collapse. Or the house spiders already ate the 200 queens i think were living in our loft insulation (and Xmas tree) after last years nest.

Tolworth tower view from the a3. Suburban commuter housing to the left. Slightly roiling clouds. Colour photo but naturally tending to a monochrome moody.
