In keeping with its name, it's shaped like a gun holster, and it's a kilometer and a half long, and half a kilometer wide. The lake is surrounded by very tall mountains, about one kilometer higher than the photographer perspective, and they recede into the distance for ten kilometers or more; their lower slopes and covered by forests. The sky is almost completely clear and blue.

Following the festive spirit of this weekend, I made "Melon con vino", an inexpensive summer cocktail from Chile. It's simple: you hollow up a honeydew, returning part of the flesh inside, fill it up with wine and some other liquor, and then give them a few hours to macerate. More in ALT. #cocktail

A bottle of red wine, a hollowed up honeydew melon, the cutout of the melon and the carved out flesh inside a metallic bowl appear in this image. In Chile, white wine is preferred for this, but any wine will do. It's imperative that the fruit and the wine inside the melon get at least a couple of hours to get well acquainted with each other.

Just like with sangría, adding a little of another stronger and fruity liquor gives it more flavor and "kick". I used Orange Liquor for this version. It can be had with ice and a slice of a citrus or some other fruit. The melon was grown in my own garden.
