The Breda ba.88 Lince, an Italian twin engined fighter whose sleek looks belie the fact it was arguably the WORST fighter of WWII. It was terrible in pretty every metric of performance. The thing could barely take off fully loaded. It makes the Avia S.199 look good.

There was an episode of @coldwarpod.bsky.social where a US teen from the Reagan era visited E. Europe. Despite his kneejerk anticommunism there was one point where his hosts/minders explained that under communism a job was a basic right. And despite all his anticommunism, he saw some appeal there.
